Orion Free Music Series and Shell Yeah! Benefit Concert Series begins with the Sunset Symphony on May 29
The Orion Free Music Concert Series returns on May 29, 2022, at the newly renamed Overton Park Shell with the opening concert featuring the Sunset Symphony. This opening show is in partnership with the Memphis Symphony Orchestra. Then, on June 16, the Shell Yeah! Benefit Concert Series will feature Durand Jones & The Indications, and the July 16 show will feature St. Paul & The Broken Bones.
Music at the Overton Park Shell is sponsored by Orion Federal Credit Union and will feature many highly regarded local and regional artists and will run from late May to late October. Tickets for Shell Yeah! Benefit Concert Series can be purchased beginning on Friday, April 22 via Ticketmaster. More Shell Yeah! Benefit Concerts to be announced soon.
“We are so excited about the return of free concerts as well as ticketed shows to help power our mission and work,” said Overton Park Shell Executive Director Natalie Wilson. “In order to provide accessibility to our free concerts and events, we rely on revenue raised from Shell Yeah! Benefit Shows and generous donations from the Memphis community.”
Additionally, the Overton Park Shell has established a new partnership with Deaf Connect of the Mid-South where many of the concerts will include Certified Deaf Interpreters (CDI) on the stage providing an inclusive concert experience.
