Eclectic Eye by MOSCOT: An Eyewear Collaboration

As a small business, it’s rare to come across a partnership with iconic names in your industry. When the opportunity presents itself to collaborate on creative work with fellow artisans, there is nothing quite like it. Late last year, Eclectic Eye – a local luxury eyewear boutique, “happily part of the Cooper Connector between Overton Square and Cooper-Young” – welcomed MOSCOT from New York City and unveiled an exclusive Eclectic Eye-designed, cross-branded frame and custom cleaning cloth. For the unveiling, a MOSCOT brand representative visited the store in Midtown to reveal the limited-edition piece and showcase the entire MOSCOT collection.

The collaboration began in 2017, when the staff at Eclectic Eye attended Vision Expo, an event that brings together the entire optical industry. During the event, the team had dinner with Harvey and Zach Moscot to catch up and discuss how well the line had been selling in the store. When the topic of a collaboration came up, the team jumped in headfirst. When they returned to Memphis, Eclectic Eye began exchanging ideas with MOSCOT on colors, shapes and materials. After careful consideration, the eyewear architects settled on pairing a new colorway with the brand’s best-selling shape, the Frankie.

The frame showcases a translucent straw color in the front, with forest fade templates. Together, this combination highlights a nice mixture of classic tortoise coloring, modern translucent accents and a deep, rich green. Only 100 of these original pieces were produced, each exclusively numbered.

Eclectic Eye is proud to partner with MOSCOT, a five-generation, family-owned and operated independent eyewear line that prides itself on originality and attention to detail. The yearlong collaboration resulted in an iconic, one-of-a-kind frame, rich in materials and representative of the passion both companies share. Each pair tastefully displays both brands’ logos, as well as Eclectic Eye’s signature hashtag, #eyelovememphis. The frame itself is rich in top-of-the-line materials and has a subtle depth that cannot be found in any other frame. The collaboration was inspired by the local community and the camaraderie between Memphis and New York City culture. Eclectic Eye is proud to stage a completely customized product on its shelves, created specifically for the small business by one of the original and most notable brands in eyewear design. These 901-inspired frames are available exclusively at Eclectic Eye. More information can be found at
