From Eyewear Architects Maddie Robinson and Lee Blankenship
At Eclectic Eye, we love being engaged in our community, especially in the local arts. Memphis is home to many incredible artists who showcase their talents throughout our beloved city. One of our favorite ways to get a glimpse of their fantastic work is to find all the amazing murals in Memphis! Not only is this a great way to experience the city’s rich culture, but these pieces can also serve as the perfect backdrop and inspiration for your future frames!
I LOVE MEMPHIS
Birdcap and Brandon Marshall’s I Love Memphis mural on Broad Avenue boasts an exquisite, cool blue theme. This piece is part of the I Love Memphis mural series, which can be found throughout the city by various artists. Inspired by this masterpiece, Angie is wearing the AHLEM Place De La Chapelle in champagne. The sleek metal frame pops in front of the amorphous, indigo wall.
Shannon also looks stunning in the Bo frame from our newest line, HENAU. Standing in front of the iconic I Love Memphis mural by Brandon Marshall, this bold frame is sure to make a statement no matter where you are. This is another spectacular mural in the I Love Memphis series!
BROAD AVENUE ARTS DISTRICT
In addition to Birdcap’s Broad Avenue piece, colorful murals fill the entire street of this amazing art district. From the sides of buildings to the water tower, you are sure to find color everywhere! Lee is wearing the MOSCOT Dov in front of the iconic water tower by Youngblood Studio. His design was inspired by the Mississippi River and the colorful waves depict the city’s multicultural roots.
The Nosey52 mural at Wiseacre offers a more muted color palette. Every so often, this mural changes and a new artist presents their work, giving this space an entirely new feel. Allie is wearing the beautifully understated, yet powerful, Anne Et Valentin Love frame, which highlights the unique design of the mural.
#EYELOVEMEMPHIS
Here at Eclectic Eye, we love supporting local artists. We even have two beautiful murals at our Midtown store! Johnathan is wearing the MYKITA Studio 7.1 frame, with lenses that match the distinct color in Kyle Taylor’s Forming Function.
