Morris Realty & Auction is hosting an online auction for esteemed studio – API and API Cine which is closing after 75 years. The Memphis-based photography and videography studio, known for capturing celebrities like Elvis Presley and Tom Cruise, is set to auction off a range of memorabilia, including rare items that will appeal to collectors and fans alike. The auction is scheduled for Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. and will take place exclusively online.
Previews for interested bidders will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., and on Monday, February 26, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Load-out days for successful bidders are scheduled for Wednesday, February 28, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and Thursday, February 29, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Key items up for bidding include two signed pictures of Elvis from William Speer’s personal collection, the exclusive Hungerford Furniture of Memphis bedroom suit, originally promoted by Elvis himself, as well as William Speer’s lifetime personal collection items and original signed photographs by William Carrier, API owner.
