Christmas is in the air! Santa Claus is landing on the Pink Palace front lawn November 23rd
By Bill Walsh for the Pink Palace
Santa Claus is taking to the sky and flying in by helicopter to the front lawn of the Pink Palace Museum Saturday, November 23rd at 9 am. His arrival marks the beginning of the Enchanted Forest Festival of Trees, an annual fundraiser for Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital held at the Pink Palace Museum.
While the little ones eagerly await Santa’s landing, there will be fun kids’ activities and an art project for children to create a special holiday craft. Metro Eats from the Pink Palace Museum will be on hand selling coffee, hot chocolate and breakfast sandwiches. Plus, Le Bonheur will have donut holes for the kids. “Seeing kids and parents getting in the Christmas spirit is so exciting. Santa’s landing has become an annual holiday tradition for many families,” said Sarah Fiser, Le Bonheur Special Events Coordinator.
When the helicopter has landed and the rotors stop spinning, kids young and old are invited to join in as Santa and the Memphis Second Line Jazz Band lead a parade inside the Pink Palace Museum, officially opening the Enchanted Forest Festival of Trees.
Santa’s landing and lawn activities are free, however tickets are required to see Santa inside the Enchanted Forest. Tickets are on sale now at the Pink Palace Museum box office. “We encourage parents to get their tickets in advance. You can beat the rush by buying tickets early,” said Fiser.
