Continuing: Social Distancing with Chalk! The Brooks serves up a virtual Chalkfest for kids of all ages

The weather will be perfect tomorrow for the continuing Brooks Museum Virtual Chalkfest! We invite you and your family to bust out the chalk. Create and share your wildest sidewalk art with #Chalkfest2020 for chances to win prizes from the Brooks Museum.

How to Participate:

  1. Grab some chalk and create your chalk art
  2. Share photos with #ChalkFest2020 + tag us @BrooksMuseum on Instagram or Facebook
  3. Follow along on social media for a chance to see your work featured


Grand Prize: A Quarantine Portrait shot by Jamie Harmon of Amurica Photo (submissions for this prize close Wednesday, April 1 at 5 p.m.)

Three winners will receive a Brooks dual membership and a Brooks mug (submissions for this prize close Friday, April 3 at 5 p.m.)

Need a few ideas?

  • Draw a picture of your house with your family pet included
  • Draw a picture of your family (on vacation . . . on the moon . . . at the Brooks . . . )
  • Draw a picture of yourself as a 1) cowboy/cowgirl; 2) astronaut; 3) pirate; 4) artist
  • Draw a picture of your favorite artwork in the Brooks collection
  • Draw a picture of your favorite place
  • Draw a picture using only the primary colors
  • Draw an abstract picture that only uses shapes and colors
  • Draw a picture that includes a message of hope for your neighbors
  • Draw a mandala (a circular shape with repeating patterns)
