Chalkbeat to host virtual forums for Shelby County Schools board candidates


Chalkbeat Tennessee is hosting two candidate forums for the Shelby County Schools board from 5:30-7 p.m. Thursday, July 16 and 5:30-7 p.m. Monday, July 20. 

This virtual series will introduce the candidates running for the Shelby County Schools board to the public and allow them to answer questions on key education issues impacting the district. The public also will be given the opportunity to ask questions.

Candidates for districts 2, 3, and 4 will be featured on Thursday, July 16. Those running for the four-year positions are:

District 2: Althea Greene 

District 3: Jesse Jeff, Stephanie Love, Aaron Youngblood 

District 4: Clyde Pinkston, Tamarques Porter, Kristy Sullivan, Kevin Woods 

Candidates for districts 5 and 7 will be featured on Monday, July 20. Those running for the four-year positions are:

District 5: Paul Evelyn Allen, Mauricio Calvo, April Ghueder, Sheleah Harris, Scott McCormick

District 7: Trevor Johnson Banks, Miska Clay Bibbs
