Memphis Songwriters Series Returns to the Halloran Centre

Memphis Songwriters Series Returns to the Halloran Centre for 5th Year: Moves to Halloran Centre stage after successful consecutive seasons

The Orpheum Theatre Group is pleased to announce the return of the Memphis Songwriters Series hosted by Mark Edgar Stuart sponsored by Evolve Bank & Trust as part of the On Stage at the Halloran Centre series. The first event will take place on Thursday, September 28 at 7pm. Tickets are $10 at the door. Due to growing popularity, this year’s series will move from the lounge to the Halloran Centre stage.

“Since the beginning, our hope for the Memphis Songwriters Series was growth,” said Mark Edgar Stuart.  “Attract bigger names with a bigger room without losing the intimacy. I think moving to the main stage of the Halloran, but putting the audience AND the songwriters on the same stage together is the perfect compromise creating a unique experience for the listener and the performer!”

The kickoff event will take place on Thursday, September 28th and will feature five-time Blues Music Award winner John Németh, local rocker Sarah Spain, and recent Memphis Songwriters Association Showdown finalist Deion Corley. Tickets are $10 at the door beginning when doors open at 6pm. Future Songwriters Series lineups will be announced later.

Hosted by Memphis Songwriter Mark Edgar Stuart, the Memphis Songwriters Series lifts the veil on Memphis’ longstanding songwriting tradition for music fans of all genres to enjoy. Mark and his musical guests take audiences on a journey behind the music, sharing personal stories and introducing exciting new works. Each Songwriters Series performance features three of Memphis’ own seasoned musicians.
